I teach the old Italian School/Bel Canto method of singing. Low breathing, coupled with lower abdominal support and connection to the breath, contribute to this successful singing method. In addition, concentration on proper vowel formation, placement of vowels, and the flow of each language (lyric diction) ultimately aids the singer in maximum resonance while freeing the larynx of unnecessary manipulation. Attention to character interpretation as well as performance techniques are also taught. Students participate in annual recitals, masterclasses, and workshops which contribute to their overall education and experience. Student ages range from 12yrs through adult (male and female).

My students have been accepted to vocal performance and music programs at the Eastman School of Music, Oberlin College, University of Connecticut, Roosevelt University, Catholic University, The New England Conservatory, Boston University, Gordon College, Boston Conservatory, The Hartt School, University of Massachusetts, New York University, University of Michigan, Harvard University, Temple University, Columbia College Chicago, Rhode Island College, the Manhatten School of Music, and Emerson College. Summer programs for students have included the Tanglewood Institute, V.O.I.C.Experience, and Oberlin in Italy.

Many of my students perform leading roles in regional opera companies and community and high school/college theater programs, participate in church and community choirs, and have been accepted into the Massachusetts All-State Chorus, ACDA Chorus, New England Conservatory Youth Chorale, and MA Central District Chorus. Students have represented our studio at local, regional, and national level voice competitions.
